chosen as the national female recipient of the
Wendy’s Classic Achievers® Scholarship.

2)
Leatherworks, Indian Brook, was named the
Tourism Business of the Year at 2008 Crystal Tourism Awards of
Excellence at 31st Annual TIANS Tourism Summit in Halifax,
NS. Congratulations to Marion, John and all their
staff.
3) The Municipal Council minutes for
November 17, 2008 are now available on the website.

The November 2008 newsletter
of the Heritage & Archives Dept. is now available.
5)
Phase 3 of Victoria County's
Broadband Project Update (December 5th) -
Work continues at
MacLeod's Point. MacLeod's Site pole has been
installed. Electronics and power are the final two steps.
Seaside is hopeful it will be up and running before
Christmas. Cape North site requires power and electronics
before it is completed. Engineering work & land acquistion continues at West Tarbot and Big Intervale
sites.
There are six sites left to be open for customers and phase three of construction will be completed. Updates
will
be posted weekly by the Victoria County Recreation & Tourism Dept. on County's Broadband website -
"Connected
Communities" .
The following communities can now have access to
Seaside Wireless High
speed Internet - Aspy Bay,
Black Head, Capstick, Smelt Brook, White Point, and South Harbour.
Seaside Customer service reps will be
calling people in these areas to let you know the service is available.

Please Note: When
service becomes available, individual assessments
will be
required at each residence to ensure the signal is of suitable strength to complete an installation on your
property.
