| Roots Cape Breton Genealogy & Family History Centre |
The Centre is an arm of the Highland Village. Using a customized database, records are being entered in an organized manner enabling quick retrieval. Careful attention is paid to the accuracy of input and documentation of sources.
Roots Cape Breton offers researchers an opportunity to search for their Cape Breton family connections. On-site research may be done on your own or with assistance. You can also contract staff to do research. Roots Cape Breton has many types of records available. Microfilm includes census records of 1811, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901; birth, marriage and death records; land grants and land records. Published genealogies, histories of communities and counties are kept in our library, as well as unpublished family histories, community information, some church information, and data donated by researchers.
