Nicolas Denys Museum
The Nicolas Denys Museum (St. Peters) endeavors to present and preserve the long and varied history of the village of St. Peter's. The museum concentrates on Nicolas Denys the first permanent European settler from Tours France in 1650. The subsequent history, which includes Fort Toulouse, Fort Dorchester, the Laurence Kavanaugh family and the construction of the historic St. Peter's Canal, are well documented. The French trading post building houses many artifacts depicting life in the area over the past 355 years. Operated by: St. Peters Community Club
