Celtic Music Interpretive Centre Society (in Judique)

Located in Judique, 20 minutes from the Canso Causeway on Hwy 19. The Society's mission is to collect, preserve, and promote Cape Breton’s Celtic music through education, research, and performance. Enhances your Cape Breton experience with information and background about the music, musicians, and events.

EXPERIENCE:

The Tom Rankin Interactive Exhibit Room ( pick up a fiddle to take an 8-minute lesson, try your 'hand' , or rather, your feet with a video step-dancing lesson, learn about tune types on the wall of tunes)

Sunday Ceilidhs in the Ceildh Kitchen every Sunday afternoon , 3 - 6:45 pm, year round ( Call 787-2708 to confirm as on occassion events do change)

CMIC Archives - research stories, tunes, listen to music, and read info files about Cape Breton musicians, past and present. Please call ahead if you have specific research queries.

Music Demonstration conducted by a local fiddler. Peak season only or, for group tours, by previous arrangement.

The Buddy MacMaster School of Fiddling in October. Intermediate and Advanced.
